Why we built Rata
Splitting a bill is a basic feature. Some apps now limit how many expenses you add each day. Some show ads between your bills. Some charge for currency conversion. We are fed up with that. So we made Rata. Shared costs, free, for every family.
No paywall

Your phone encrypts each expense before it syncs. The key is in the invite link, and the link never comes to our server. We do not sell data and we do not show ads.
Where Rata is going
A card app counts ₹4,000 of spend. A split app counts only the ₹3,000 that friends owe. Your real spend is ₹1,000. Rata will join the two records, so your numbers are true.
Groups, every split, UPI pay, group types and Insights. All free.
Your own spending and card statements, in a private layer that stays on your phone.
Net worth and investments. Ask questions in plain words with the AI tool you already use. We never ask for an API key.
